Man Breaks Guinness World Record For Pulling A Bus With His Hair

Topic: Weird Wire™

More than 200,000 people around the world came together last week on November 12th to break some wacky records on the fifth annual Guinness World Records Day. The highlight and feel good story of the day was the impressive comeback of Manjit Singh, the man who broke a world record for the furthest distance to pull a double-decker bus with hair in Battersea Park, London. Back in November 2007, Singh's record breaking dreams were dashed when he failed to break the record for furthest distance to pull a double-decker bus with the ears which makes his comeback this year even sweeter.

Take a look at this hair-raising feat in the video below courtesy of The Telegraph:

Dyson Invents The Air Multiplier--A Fan Without Any Blades!

Topic: Weird Wire™

We're still wrapping our heads around this one so bear with us, but if we understand this correctly the Dyson Company is one step closer to building hovercrafts! This week Dyson announced the Dyson Air Multiplier, a new fan that accelerates and amplifies air to cool you down. From the same company that created the bagless vacuum and the dual drum washing machine now comes the amazing technology of a fan with no blades. By circulating air and multiplying it by FIFTEEN, Dyson has created a fan that is not only safer than traditional bladed fans but also more eco-friendly by reducing energy consumption!

But how is this possible? How does the Dyson Air Multiplier work?

  1. Air is sucked in through the motor at the base of the fan
  2. The air then enters a large loop that has gaps that run around the entire inner circle
  3. The air shoots through the loop, picking up speed and is then forced over a curved ramp inside the loop which creates a mini tornado effect
  4. The air is then multiplied 15x it's normal speed and is then pushed out of the loop

An Indonesian woman has given birth to an 19.2-pound baby boy, the heaviest newborn ever recorded in the country, a doctor said on Wednesday. Doctors commented that the boy's massive size was likely the result of his mother, Ani, 41, having diabetes. The boy is in a healthy condition despite having to initially be given oxygen to overcome breathing problems. The heaviest baby ever was born to Anna Bates of Canada in 1879, according to The Guinness Book of World Records. Read the full story at the Telegraph...
