Recipedia: Brown Sugar Chess Pie

Topic: Recipedia

Brown Sugar Chess Pie was sent to us by Gamesviller Dodi417 from Statham, GA. She says: "This is similar to pecan pie but much richer."

Ingredients:

  • 3 eggs
  • 3 cups of brown sugar, packed
  • 1 stick of margarine or butter
  • ¼ cup of whole milk
  • 2 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 cup of pecans (more if you like)
Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  2. Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and beat by hand — don't use a mixer.
  3. Pour mixture into an unbaked 9-inch pie crust.
  4. Bake at 425 for 15 minutes.
  5. Reduce oven temperature to 300 degrees and bake for another 25 minutes.
  6. Allow to cool completely before serving.
  7. Tastes great with ice cream or whipped topping.
